I’ve been getting so many compliments on my purple hair. Today I want to share with you how I did it. I will say it took a lot of patience to achieve the look I wanted.
You start off with a blonde or white synthetic wig. Synthetic wigs can’t be dyed with beach due to messing up the fibers of the wig. I purchased this wig at my local beauty supply stores for $19.99. I preferred to buy the wig cheap in case I messed up.
Gather all of the materials you will need. I personally wanted a pastel pink & purple wig but the pink wasn’t taking very well. You are going to need a spray bottle, rubbing alcohol, and sharpie markers of your desired wig color.
After pulling the sharpie ink out of the marker mix the ink and rubbing alcohol into the spray bottle. Let it sit for at least 24 hours before applying the mixture to the wig (for better results). As you can see this is when I added pink & blue but I have no idea why the wig is green. Yes I had tons of trial & error.
Rinse the wig and then let it dry. Again you see my trial and error.
I was at least happy that I got the green out. Now I took my time and used patience (something I really don’t have) and tried again using these steps.
I let the wig completely dry and this time I went back to my local Rite Aid and purchased 4 purple sharpie markers. I figured the darker I got the better i would stain the wig. I let the purple markers sit in alcohol for 8-12 hours and sprayed my wig again except this time I left it over night and I did NOT rinse the wig off.
